Senior Clinical Fellow in Perioperative Medicine and Major General Anaesthesia

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Fellow to join our team in Perioperative Medicine and Major General Anaesthesia. The successful candidate will have completed or nearly completed a recognised anaesthetic specialist training program and possess a CCT in Anaesthesia.
The Clinical Fellow will work effectively at Junior Consultant level with Senior Consultant support and distant supervision available at all times. They will participate in a non-resident on call rota and gain experience in preoperative assessment, management and optimisation, intraoperative management for complex major general surgery, and postoperative care for high risk patients and high risk surgery within a dedicated post anaesthetic care unit.
The level of supervision will be tailored to the fellow's prior experience with the ultimate aim of independent practice with distant supervision. The Clinical Fellow will work in a dynamic and supportive environment with opportunities to develop and increase experience in the management of patients presenting for surgery throughout their entire surgical journey.
Main Duties of the Job
The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for:
- Developing and increasing experience in the management of patients presenting for surgery throughout their entire surgical journey
- Gaining experience in preoperative assessment, management and optimisation, intraoperative management for complex major general surgery, and postoperative care for high risk patients and high risk surgery within a dedicated post anaesthetic care unit
- Working effectively at Junior Consultant level with Senior Consultant support and distant supervision available at all times

The ideal candidate will have:
- Completed or nearly completed a recognised anaesthetic specialist training program
- Possess a CCT in Anaesthesia
- Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
