Job Summary

The Clinical Research Fellow in Adult Medicine will work closely with the in-patient and outpatient service both in the main hospital and Addenbrooke's Centre for Clinical Investigation (ACCI).

The primary role of this post is to conduct clinical research under the supervision of both NHS and University consultant staff, and in conjunction with clinical research nurses and trial coordinators. The research will include clinical trials and other clinical studies requiring direct patient contact, clinical epidemiology studies using existing databases, and working with translational laboratory research groups in the University.

Main Responsibilities

The Clinical Fellow will attend research meetings and will be encouraged to develop a wider interest in the research opportunities on the campus. The post will also involve support of the vasculitis and lupus clinical service with attendance at outpatient clinics and appropriate follow-up of patients including contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, under the supervision of the Consultants in clinic. At times, the post will require supervised support of the vasculitis and lupus in-patient consult service and liaison with other medical teams within the hospital.
