About the Role

We are looking for a Specialty Doctor with expertise in managing a broad range of mental disorders in adults. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, Associate Specialists, and Core Trainees to provide senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and supervision to the team, ensuring high-quality care for patients across Waltham Forest.

Main Responsibilities

Your key duties will include:
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to adult patients with mental health needs.
  • Providing senior medical support to the team, including direct input on complex clinical cases.
  • Offering guidance and supervision to junior colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Liaising with community adult consultant psychiatrists and specialty doctors in mental health to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Supporting Home Treatment Teams in managing bed occupancy and developing links with local acute trusts A&E departments and adult services.

Person Specification

To succeed in this role, you must possess:
  • A minimum of 4 years of full-time postgraduate training or equivalent experience gained on a part-time basis, including at least 2 years in a specialty training program in a relevant specialty.
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
