Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Coating Engineer to join our team at Simpson Booth Limited. As a Coating Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical quality and integrity of our coating scope of work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Ownership: You will be responsible for the technical ownership of the CRCE coating scope of work, including document creation, contractual supplier document register ownership, and internal and external client interface for testing scopes.
  2. Documentation and Reporting: You will prepare project technical and quality documentation and reports, ensuring that required documentation for field joint coating activities are finalized to client satisfaction.
  3. Knowledge Management: You will collect, implement, and extend know-how and experience for the purpose of improving customer service.
  4. Specialist Support: You will provide timely specialist field joint coating support for all phases of a project, including technical liaison and communications with subcontractors/vendors.
  5. Training and Development: You will instruct onshore personnel and subcontractors in accordance with agreed plans.
  6. Client Interaction: You will interact with clients on technical and quality issues, providing technical representation of PIH at Client's Project Meetings.
  7. Collaboration: You will liaise with other departments and site, providing technical/quality support.
  8. Scope Review: You will review Client and 3rd party scope of work, including suppliers and specifications.
  9. Support to Sales Team: You will support the sales team for specification reviews, lab testing scopes, etc.
  10. PQT Support: You will provide technical support for the planning and execution of Procedure Qualification Trials (PQT's) in conjunction with the relevant service delivery departments.
  11. Lab Testing: You will track the execution of 3rd party lab testing.
Requirements
  1. Education: You will require science-based academic qualifications to A-Level or B Tech standard, a Bachelor's degree in Nautical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, and good practical and theoretical knowledge of pipeline installation techniques.
  2. Experience: You will require good understanding of ISO standards related to FJC, good understanding of the related inspections and testing methods, and a good knowledge of FJC and application techniques.
  3. Skills and Knowledge: You will require a strong communicator, commercially aware, good presentation and client-facing skills, excellent all-round IT skills, strong problem-solving acumen, and good technical report writing skills.
