Trainee Finance Analyst - Research and Grants

As a Trainee Finance Analyst - Research and Grants, you will be part of the Research Operations Office, supporting world-leading research on a global platform. Our team provides expert advice and guidance, and financially administers external research funding on behalf of academics and departments within the University's Schools.

The Role

We have two exciting opportunities to learn on the job, gain a recognized qualification, and join the team as a Trainee Finance Analyst - Research and Grants. You will be trained to support the financial administration of a portfolio of research grants across the University's Schools and Institutions, ensuring that all eligible expenses are recovered from the funder over the course of the award.

Alongside the role, you will be required to undertake the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard. This apprenticeship will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to assist in the above responsibilities and support your development in the team.

Your Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be numerically confident, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences and mediums, and have a proactive approach to workload management. Additionally, you will need to be flexible and able to work as part of a variety of diverse and customer-focused teams.

Location

The roles are based in the Research Operations Team, with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at Greenwich House and/or Addenbrookes site. The University supports hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment.

Fixed-term: 2 years.
