Trainee Finance Analyst - Research and Grants

As a key member of the Research Operations Office, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial administration of research grants across the University's Schools and Institutions. This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to learn on the job, gain a recognized qualification, and develop your skills in financial administration.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and numerically confident individual to join our team as a Trainee Finance Analyst - Research and Grants. You will be responsible for supporting the financial administration of a portfolio of research grants, ensuring that all eligible expenses are recovered from the funder over the course of the award.

As part of this role, you will be required to undertake the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard. This apprenticeship will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist in the above responsibilities and support your development in the team.

Your Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be educated to A level standard/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences and mediums, and have a proactive approach to workload management.

Location

The roles are based in the Research Operations Team and are located in Greenwich House and the Addenbrookes site. The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment.

Fixed-term: 2 years.
