Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as Deputy Chair, with the intention of assuming the Chair position early summer 2025. As Deputy Chair, you will play a key role in board development and strategic oversight, helping to steer the organization towards achieving its mission with integrity and innovative leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take a leading role with the development and implementation of the organization's strategy.
  • To lead the development of the Board of Trustees, ensuring that the Board is operating effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with charity law.
  • To have a minimum of 2 years' experience of being a trustee of a charity or as the most senior member of staff of a voluntary organization with more than 20 staff.
  • To have understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • To have experience of external representation, ideally serving as a Chair (or similar) on a charity board, or similar.

  • A strong track record of governance and leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
