Specialty Doctor in Elderly Care and Rehabilitation

This is a substantive post for a Specialty Doctor in Elderly Care Medicine and Rehabilitation, providing inpatient and community-based care for patients with long-term conditions in the West Berkshire Locality.
Main Responsibilities:- Clerking in of new patients transferred from other hospitals and home with arrangement for appropriate investigations as necessary
- Daily ward review of inpatients, advice to nursing staff on the ward, writing in the medical notes, referral to other specialists when required, and completion of discharge paperwork
- Attending consultant ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient rehabilitation progress and discharge plans

Person Specification:- Full GMC registration
- MB ChB or equivalent
- MRCP
- Minimum of 6 months' post-registration experience in Elderly Care
- ILS or equivalent
- Post-registration experience of working in other specialties relevant to elderly care in the NHS
- ALS
- Good basic and wide-ranging knowledge of clinical medicine
- Strong commitment to elderly care and rehabilitation medicine, punctuality, and time management
- Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible
