Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our team at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide inpatient community-based care for patients with long-term conditions within the West Berkshire Locality.

Main Duties

The Specialty Doctor will be responsible for:

  • Clerking in new patients transferred from other hospitals and arranging necessary investigations
  • Daily ward review of inpatients and advice to nursing staff
  • Writing in medical notes, referrals to other specialists, and completion of discharge paperwork
  • Attending consultant ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings
About the Role

The elderly care department has an active educational program and is keen to bring more research opportunities to the department. The R&D Department can help support research groups and projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full registration with the GMC/eligible for registration
  • Membership of the Royal College of Geriatric Medicine of the United Kingdom or equivalent
  • Fully trained in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine
  • Ability to make decisions at consultant level
