Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at The Pirbright Institute. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of virology, with a focus on molecular virus-host interactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, set up, run, and optimize experiments in consultation with the principal investigator and other research group members.
- Analyze and critically interpret data using methodologies appropriate to the field.
- Keep up to date with relevant scientific literature and prepare material for publication in academic journals and for presentation at scientific conferences.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with internal and external collaborators involved in research related to the project.
- Assist in the induction, supervision, and mentorship of other research group members.
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant branch of biosciences.
- Experience working at high containment (equivalent to UK human pathogen containment level 3 or higher).
- Experience with molecular biology and cell culture approaches.
- Experience working within CL3 facilities at The Pirbright Institute.
