We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at The Pirbright Institute. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of virology, with a focus on dengue virus-host interactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, set up, run, and optimize experiments in high-containment virology and ex vivo work with complex multicellular primary human cell cultures up to biocontainment level 3.
- Analyze and critically interpret data using methodologies appropriate to the field.
- Develop, plan, and execute a personal research project relating to molecular virus-host interactions between dengue virus and multicellular primary liver co-cultures ex vivo.
- Collaborate with the principal investigator and other members of the research group to achieve project goals.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators, including presenting research at scientific conferences and publishing in academic journals.
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant branch of biosciences.
- Experience working at high containment (equivalent to UK human pathogen containment level 3 or higher).
- Experience with molecular biology and cell culture approaches.
- Experience working within CL3 facilities at The Pirbright Institute.
