Job Summary:

The University of Kent is seeking a highly skilled Network Manager to lead and manage a team of network professionals. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensuring optimal performance of the University's network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain key systems, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and other departments to develop and implement the University's network and voice communications strategy.
  • Ensure high network uptime and performance, particularly during peak usage.
  • Safeguard the University's network from cyber threats.
  • Lead network projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Requirements:

  • Graduate level education or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in a senior networks role with hands-on technical expertise.
  • Experience in IT evaluation, procurement, and implementation.
  • In-depth understanding of security and compliance issues relating to networks and voice communications.
