Community Liaison Volunteer

At SeeAbility, we specialise in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism, who may also have sight loss, to realise their goals each day.
We encourage people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves, and from wider society.
As a Community Liaison Volunteer, you will play an important role in the lives of our service users in Leatherhead by being a reliable companion to attend activities they enjoy.
The role involves:
- Attending activities such as going for walks, concerts, cinema trips, coffee or meals
- Providing companionship and social support to individuals
- Assisting with sighted guide/orientation when necessary
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be kind, empathetic, and friendly
- To have a good sense of humour and enjoy chatting
- To be punctual and reliable
- To be able to deal with information in line with data protection and confidentiality procedures
Please note that you must be over 18 years old to apply. We require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before confirming a volunteer role. You will also undertake safeguarding training and any specific training required for the role.
The salary for this role is approximately £9-10 per hour, based on your time commitment and location.
