About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People Business Partner to join our team at Northern Gas and Power. As a strategic advisor, you will play a key role in driving business success by providing expert guidance and support to our employees and leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement people strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, culture, and well-being.
  • Analyse and interpret data to inform people-related decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Act as a point of escalation for high-risk employee relations cases and provide guidance on conflict resolution and management.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure workforce plans are aligned with business needs and priorities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
  • Coach and mentor employees in the People Team to support their development and growth.
Requirements
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Operated in commercial, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in developing and managing people change projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to influence and tactfully deal with complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong initiative and evaluation skills; generating ideas and suggestions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Self-disciplined and proactive with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, coupled with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving HR initiatives and projects, including change management and organisational development.
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyse metrics and use insights to inform decision-making.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
