Scientific Lead Diagnostic Radiology Physics

Radiation Physics is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Lead to oversee the scientific support for Diagnostic Imaging departments across Kent and the South East.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in radiation physics and have experience leading teams within a clinical environment.
This role requires the ability to act as an accredited Medical Physics Expert in diagnostic radiology, ensuring the safe delivery of radiation protection and diagnostic radiology services.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-level scientific and leadership expertise that directly impacts on the safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
They will engage with staff throughout the organisation to ensure radiation safety is prioritised and service levels are met.
Job RequirementsThe role involves acting as an accredited MPE in diagnostic radiology, RPA2000 certification as a Medical Physics Expert, and HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
A strong understanding of radiation dosimetry, diagnostic unit technology, and quality assurance is essential.
Person Specification- First or second-class honours degree in physics or a relevant subject
- PhD or equivalent level of knowledge
- Corporate Membership of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM)
The annual salary range is £74,290 to £85,601 per annum, pro rata.
