Job Title: Technical Support Expert

We are a leading managed service provider in the Education Sector, and are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to facilitate client visits and provide technical support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT professional to join our team as a Technical Support Expert. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical assistance to our clients across the Harrow/Slough area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of a group of sites within our portfolio, dealing with first- and second-line technical issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical inquiries from clients, escalating complex issues to our helpdesk as needed.
  • Develop innovative solutions to common problems, demonstrating a proactive and resourceful attitude.
  • Deliver exceptional technical expertise to assigned customer networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Visit client sites to address technical issues, collaborating closely with account managers and senior engineers on strategic decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within each school's technical infrastructure, communicating findings to account managers.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to clients and commercial details to account managers, both verbally and in writing.
Critical Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience managing enterprise-level network infrastructures and service desks.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMWare or Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud services.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (degree) or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCSE), or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Additional specialist IT certifications, such as Aruba, Cisco, HP, or other enterprise-level software/hardware.
  • A valid UK driving license.
