This role is crucial in providing effective maintenance support to the Production team, ensuring the optimal performance of equipment, machinery, and tools used in the factory.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain routine checks on production lines and processes to minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using PLC logic
  • Perform electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed plant, handling, and packaging equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
  • Communicate effectively with the Production team and provide timely updates on breakdowns and downtime
  • Support plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration, and steam
  • Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance routines
  • Assist the Production Team in achieving targets
  • Monitor line and machine performance, identifying and investigating faults
  • Intervene promptly when any deterioration in performance occurs
  • Analyze current procedures and suggest improvements
  • Collaborate with equipment suppliers on new equipment, installations, and modifications
  • Maintain cleanliness in working areas, including transit zones and the workshop
  • Participate in training and development programs for cross-skilling and job-related competencies
  • Update the maintenance management system with records of changes, transactions, and work performed

Salary: £41,296.00 per annum

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical and/or Electrical Qualification essential
  • BS7671 18th Edition - 17th Edition acceptable with ongoing commitment to 18th
  • Experience in meat/food production environment preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, refrigeration, and PTW systems desirable
  • Strong diagnostic/root cause analysis skills essential
  • Proactive and adaptable attitude required
  • Sound understanding of integrity and compliance to relevant legislation and company processes/procedures
  • Commitment to good practice
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Able to multitask and work independently to meet deadlines
