Job Title: Community CAMHS Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist to join our Community CAMHS team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate psychiatrist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs across Waltham Forest.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases.
  • Work directly with adult people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals.
  • Develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards.
  • Be responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care.
  • Support your peers and the team manager and be an effective team member while working on their own initiative.
  • Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
Person Specification:
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £59,175 to £95,400 a year plus London allowance £2162.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
