Strategic Capital Markets Development Associate Director

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its Capital and Financial Markets Development (CFMD) team. As a key member of the team, you will support the Director, CFMD in driving the development of financial and capital markets in the EBRD's countries of operation.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Dialogue:
- Design and implement policy dialogue with stakeholders to promote capital markets and financial sector development;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, regulators, and market participants;
- Identify areas for improvement in financial and capital market systems and develop recommendations for reform;
- Support the Director, CFMD in coordinating development activities and representing the EBRD in international policy forums;
- Transaction Design and Support:
- Assist the Director, CFMD in guiding the EBRD's Banking and Treasury departments towards development opportunities;
- Support the design and coordination of technical cooperation projects to support reforms or specific transactions in the financial sector or capital markets;
- Liaise with the EBRD's Treasury Department to strengthen synergies between CFMD activities and EBRD's own treasury operations;
- Leadership and Management, Capacity Building, and Communications:
- Participate in the organisation of conferences, workshops, and seminars on capital markets and financial sector development;
- Support the Director, CFMD in representing the EBRD in high-level policy-making bodies and coordinating capital/financial market and policy activities;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, regulators, and market participants;
- Research and Analytical Work:
- Prepare, review, and oversee the production of high-quality analytical reports and policy notes on financial market development issues;
- Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field;
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in financial markets development, policy dialogue, or a related field;
- Proven experience in working with financial and capital market products, including debt, equity, and derivatives;
- Experience in local currency and capital market product design, including funding and hedging and derivative market development;
- Knowledge of the mechanics and issues related to capital/financial market development across a wide range of products and market segments;
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment;
- Proven project management experience;
