About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our patient transport team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities, ensuring a high level of empathy and care at all times.
  • Assist in the transportation of patients with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses.
  • Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends, providing effective communication and support.
  • Responsible for lifting, securing, and helping patients in and out of the ambulance.
  • Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centers/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar both in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights.

Requirements

  • Committed to patient care and safety.
  • Effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in emotional circumstances.
  • Calm, considerate, and careful driver with no more than three penalty points on your license.
  • Natural flair for team working and collaboration.
  • Physically fit for patient handling and moving.
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company-funded).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Familiar with the local and surrounding area.

Training and Development
