Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a talented Materials Engineer to join our team in Gloucester, UK.

Job Description:

A prestigious manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Materials Engineer to work on a diverse range of product development and manufacturing projects. As a key member of the R&D team, you will be responsible for ensuring that materials used meet the highest demands required by customers operating within the automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, defence, and medical industry sectors.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with production and manufacturing teams to investigate and uncover the root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions. Additionally, you will support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in a mechanical engineering, materials engineering, composites engineering, product design or similar engineering / science-based discipline. A strong understanding of materials science and experience working in a composites, polymers, or materials engineering environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on product development and manufacturing projects to ensure material quality meets customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new products into manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve material failures with production and manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of materials science and experience in composites, polymers, or materials engineering environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
