Materials Development Specialist

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Materials Development Specialist to join a growing innovative product development and manufacturing business.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or composites engineering, with a proven ability to work on diverse range of materials manufacturing projects.
The company is committed to delivering high-quality products to various industry sectors, including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, defence, and medical. The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with R&D teams to ensure the smooth integration of new products into the manufacturing process.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality. You will also be responsible for undertaking technical initiatives such as material dual sourcing, material compliance, and material/parts verification.
As a key member of the team, you will contribute to evaluating industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing to drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on diverse range of product development and manufacturing projects to meet customer demands.
- Support R&D teams to integrate new products into the manufacturing process.
- Investigate and uncover root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Undertake technical initiatives to improve material sourcing and compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or composites engineering.
- Proven ability to work on diverse range of materials manufacturing projects.
- Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in a mechanical engineering, materials engineering, composites engineering, product design, or similar engineering/science-based discipline.
- Eligibility for UK Defence Security Clearance.
