Histopathology Team Manager

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Histopathology Biomedical Scientist to fill the role of Team Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Biomedical Scientists and ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Histopathology and excellent leadership, organisational, quality management and training skills. They will be able to manage staff, support training and staff development, quality assurance, audit and other aspects of clinical governance.
The post is based within Cellular Pathology (Histopathology) and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in Continuing Professional Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Biomedical Scientists
- Manage laboratory operations
- Support training and staff development
- Ensure quality assurance and audit
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Histopathology
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Quality management and training skills
- HCPC registration
- SCQF level 11 qualification (e.g. MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma)
Working Hours:
The post is full-time, but applicants requesting part-time hours will be considered. The working hours will be 37 hours per week, with the option to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period.
