Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Histopathology Biomedical Scientist to fill the role of Team Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, organizing laboratory huddles and management meetings, supporting training, staff management and development, quality assurance, audit, and other aspects of clinical governance.

About the Role: This is a full-time position based within Cellular Pathology (Histopathology). The successful candidate must have experience of managing staff, with experience and evidence of this as a band 6 specialist BMS being acceptable. The Team Manager will be responsible for organizing laboratory huddles and management meetings, supporting training, staff management and development, quality assurance, audit, and other aspects of clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize laboratory huddles and management meetings
  • Support training, staff management and development
  • Ensure quality assurance and audit compliance
  • Contribute to clinical governance

Requirements: The successful candidate must be HCPC registered, educated to SCQF level 11 (e.g. MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma), and have IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology or equivalent experience. Previous and substantial work in an NHS Histopathology Laboratory is essential.

Working Arrangements: This is a full-time position, but applicants requesting part-time hours will be considered. The post is based within Cellular Pathology (Histopathology) and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in Continuing Professional Development.
