Job Title: Deputy Estates Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Estates Manager to join our team at the Learning Academies Trust in Plymouth. As a key member of our estates team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Estates Manager in the day-to-day management of our trust-wide estates development plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the trust-wide estates development plan, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and meet the needs of our schools and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Estates Manager to write specifications for building and mechanical and electrical works, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the Estates Manager in liaising with contractors and site visits, ensuring that all works are carried out to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the development of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff and students are safe and secure in our schools.
  • Work closely with the Estates Manager to manage the trust's estates budget, ensuring that all expenditure is properly managed and accounted for.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in building or premises management, such as a BSc in Building Surveying or Facilities Management.
  • Proven experience in managing contractors and supporting non-technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel to various sites across Plymouth and surrounding areas.
