Job Title: Deputy Director Estates

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director Estates to join our team at the Learning Academies Trust in Plymouth.

About the Role

The Deputy Director Estates will play a key role in helping to manage the trust-wide 5/10-year Estates development plan by proactively monitoring the current condition of the facilities and updating records. The successful candidate will work closely with the Estates Manager to make key decisions on needs and collaborate on premises and health and safety related tasks trust-wide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help manage the trust-wide Estates development plan by monitoring facilities and updating records.
  • Collaborate with the Estates Manager on premises and health and safety related tasks trust-wide.
  • Write outline specifications for competitive quotations for works, including building and mechanical and electrical works.
  • Liaise with contractors on site visits as required.
  • Support onsite non-technical teams and manage contractors.
Requirements
  • Formal higher qualification in a building or premises related subject, such as BSc in Building Surveying or BSc Facilities Management.
  • Sound knowledge of buildings, their management, and construction, including M&E elements.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Candidates with membership of CIOB/RICS or working towards, or health and safety qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH, are of high interest.
