At Field, we're revolutionizing the energy landscape by harnessing the power of clean energy. As a Fundamentals Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our strategy and driving business decisions.
About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our fundamentals team. As a Fundamentals Lead, you'll be responsible for maintaining and developing our in-house fundamentals model, ensuring it's up-to-date and accurate. You'll work closely with our Treasury and Technology teams to execute hedges, tolls, and trades, driving real business value.
Key Responsibilities- Market Fundamentals Data Sourcing and Processing: Research, analyze, and synthesize key energy market information to maintain data inputs for our in-house fundamentals model. Build and maintain tools for efficient data processing and ensure they're kept up-to-date.
- Electricity Market Research and Analysis: Conduct primary research, develop models, and run scenarios using our in-house fundamentals model. Produce robust analysis on electricity market fundamentals and present conclusions with clear actions and implications for Field.
- Board Reporting and Updates: Create monthly updates for the board on forecast vs actual revenues, complete ad-hoc requested analyses, and regularly update the business on short- to medium-term market trends.
- External Revenue Curve Management: Maintain relationships with external revenue curve providers, assess their suitability, and provide updates to the business on latest forecasts and changes.
- Market Developments and Analysis: Monitor key market developments and changes in drivers of value in merchant markets, communicating key updates and conducting analysis on expected impacts on Field's business case.
- Energy Market Expertise: Provide technical expertise on energy and ancillary services markets to the wider business and senior stakeholders.
- Expertise in electricity/energy market intelligence gathering and analysis, with a strong understanding of market modelling tools.
- In-depth knowledge of key market drivers in at least one major EU market.
- Strong Excel skills, with programming skills desirable for data manipulation.
- Ability to produce clear and actionable analysis outputs, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
