Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Toolmaker/Die Maintenance Engineer to join our team at G-TEKT Europe Manufacturing Limited. As a key member of our Die Maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our press tooling and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Promote a culture of working safely by adhering to company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to activities that improve process flow, increase production cell efficiency, and enhance health & safety on the shop floor.
  • 5S Activities: Support the implementation of 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) throughout the shop floor.
  • Tool Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repair of press tooling, including transfer and progression tools.
  • Tool Modification: Identify and carry out modifications to press tools as necessary.
  • New Tool Development: Create new press tools and assist in the try-out process.
  • Production Support: Assist production teams in achieving production targets by resolving tooling problems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal tool performance.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a busy factory or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Skills: Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, complete production paperwork, and problem-solve.
  • Qualifications: Tool making apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Competencies: Competent use of mills and grinders, experience with press tooling, and knowledge of material properties.
