Job Title: Tooling and Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tooling and Maintenance Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our Die Maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production cells by maintaining and repairing press tooling, identifying and implementing modifications, and supporting production teams to achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work safely and efficiently to maintain and repair press tooling, adhering to company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
  2. Contribute to continuous improvement activities, suggesting process improvements to increase production cell efficiency and health & safety.
  3. Support 5s activities throughout the shop floor, promoting a culture of working safely and efficiently.
  4. Follow instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness and adhere to safety guidelines.
  5. Participate in training and development activities to enhance personal and team development.
  6. Be prepared to undertake and support other reasonable requests made by the company.
  7. Work in a small team, unsupervised, reporting directly to the Tool Room Coordinator.
  8. Maintenance and repair of press tooling (transfer and progression).
  9. Identify and carry out modifications to press tools where necessary.
  10. New press tool making.
  11. Try out new press tools.
  12. Assist production teams to achieve production targets by resolving tooling problems in press.
  13. Carry out preventative maintenance.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a busy factory or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  2. Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
  3. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete required production paperwork.
  4. Ability to problem solve.
  5. Welding skills would be advantageous.

Package:

  1. 25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays.
  2. Competitive salary.
  3. 37.5-hour week working Monday to Friday.
  4. Paid overtime after 37.5 hours.
  5. Permanent contract.
  6. Potential for advancement in Company.
  7. Overtime (up to 1.5 hours compulsory overtime per day depending on business need).
  8. 20% shift allowance on PM shift.
  9. Work wear provided.
  10. PPE provided.
  11. Health surveillance.
  12. Free parking.
  13. Working a 2-shift pattern rota: AM – 06:00am – 14:50pm – Monday to Thursday, 06:00am – 12:10pm – Friday; PM - 14:50pm – 23:35pm – Monday to Thursday, 12:10pm – 18:40pm – Friday.
