Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Interpreter Translator to join our team of freelance professionals. As an interpreter translator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality language services to clients across various sectors.

Salary: £25-£35 per hour

Location: Buxton, Derbyshire (flexible working arrangements available)

About the Job

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in English and another language, with the ability to interpret and translate complex content accurately and efficiently. You will work on a self-employed basis, using your own equipment and resources to provide services to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret for individuals using legal, health, and local government services
  • Check non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence
  • Provide conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Liaise between service users and providers
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be fluent in English and another language
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be aged 21 or over
  • Hold relevant qualifications, such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
