Job SummaryThis role involves working alongside the maintenance and operations teams to identify electrical defects and breakdowns, offering solutions to problematic equipment, and resolving problems in a time-efficient and safe manner.
The successful candidate will support the wider Maintenance team in identifying and supporting preventative maintenance activities at the quarry and asphalt plant.
Main Responsibilities- Implement a preventative maintenance system and carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure the quarry and asphalt plant operate safely and reliably.
- Play a key role in planning and implementing plant improvements.
- Quickly fault find, respond to unplanned plant shutdowns, and work closely with other team members and contractors as required.
- Experience in a similar role within the construction materials industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
- A qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience of a heavy industrial environment.
- PLC and VSD Experience (desirable).
- Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation.
- 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certification.
- Good understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.
- Knowledge & experience of medium/high voltage networks including switching methods.
- A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing - qualifications in this area would be desirable.
- A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations.
- Computer literate.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
