About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at John Hampden Surgery. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our practice's vision and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients with minor illnesses and acute conditions, under the supervision of our Same Day Access GP.
  • Manage and care for patients with chronic diseases, including those with complex needs.
  • Conduct health screenings, including blood pressure checks, urinalysis, and health education advice.
  • Provide routine injections, vaccinations, and immunisations, as well as remove sutures and clips.
  • Collect pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples and swabs.
  • Perform investigatory procedures, as requested by our GPs.
  • Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team, including maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring the clinical computer system is up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Hold a Qualified Nursing Qualification and be registered with the NMC.
  • Have experience working in a Primary Care setting, or in a team environment.
  • Have experience with minor illness and acute care, as well as dealing with all age groups, including children and vulnerable patients.
  • Be able to drive and hold valid insurance that covers home visiting, at your own cost.
