Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom University of Bristol Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to lead the analysis of a Randomised Controlled Trial investigating the effects of a very-low carbohydrate diet on colorectal cancer risk. The research project combines state-of-the-art omics approaches with comprehensive phenotyping of the circulation and peripheral tissues, linking these to colorectal cancer risk using Mendelian randomization.

The Senior Research Associate will play a key role in coordinating sample analysis, data collection, and administration, working within Bristol Medical School. Key responsibilities include performing Mendelian randomization analyses and writing up findings for publication.

This opportunity provides an excellent chance to use cutting-edge techniques – including omics data handling and analyses, and Mendelian randomization. The team has a diverse range of skills, with training provided where needed.

  • Conduct genetic epidemiological studies
  • Manage and coordinate human volunteer-based research projects
  • Collect and analyze samples and data from study participants

Applicants should have experience in nutritional and/or genetic epidemiological research, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. A proven track record of innovative research ideas and successful project delivery is essential.

We are looking for someone who can effectively coordinate the work of others, disseminate research findings, produce reports, and write peer-reviewed articles. As a member of the University of Bristol team, you will contribute to creating an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive.
