Job Title: Site Services Shift Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Services Shift Engineer to join our team at a leading FMCG manufacturing business in Northamptonshire.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling all utilities associated with keeping a production facility running efficiently. This will include electrical and mechanical fault finding, problem solving, repairs, meter reading, checks, and PPMs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control all utilities associated with keeping a production facility running efficiently
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding, problem solving, repairs, meter reading, checks, and PPMs
  • Work proactively through PPMs provided by the site service coordinator
  • Utilities - air compressors, refrigeration, boilers, steam systems, AHUs, water treatment plant
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant - chemical checks, effluent, MBR plant, water reuse systems
  • General Site Services - sprinklers, emergency lighting, fire systems, fire alarms, shutter doors
Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years' experience of working in utilities, site services, wastewater treatment
  • Dealt with steam boilers, air compressors, refrigeration, chillers
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualified in engineering or higher
  • Ideally have completed a time-served apprenticeship
  • Must have experience of working in a busy food/FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of safe working practices & compliance
  • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Ideally have 17th or 18th Edition Electrical
  • Physically fit - lots of walking, climbing, lifting etc.
  • Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial
