About the Role

AESC UK is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Engineer to join our Engineering team in Sunderland. As an Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting current production, as well as the development and operation of our world-class Gigafactory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the engineering department in all facility aspects from initial project phase to mass production of the Gigafactory.
  • Support the development of a manufacturing zone, working within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe and legally compliant from design to integration and implementation, attending design reviews and working with equipment suppliers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure facility OEE is achieved and improved while life cycles are managed and maximized.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in first-class condition.
  • Procure production facilities and processes, and manage contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support the role.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or certificate in an electrical discipline.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Project and Excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive and logical attitude.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Planning, schedule control, and project management skills.
  • Capacity to quickly learn and absorb new technologies.
  • Ability to represent the engineering perspective within a multi-disciplined cross-functional team.
Desirable Skills
  • Electrically biased engineer with some mechanical knowledge or skills.
  • Knowledge of the latest machinery standards.
  • Some PLC and systems knowledge (Siemens/Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • Experience in complex technical manufacturing processes and/or special-purpose assembly machines.
  • Previous experience in high-volume manufacture, clean/dry room experience.
  • Knowledge of current legislation of machinery standards.
  • Experience working within APQP, IAFT framework.
