Job Description

AESC UK is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to join our Engineering team in Sunderland. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting current production and the development of a world-class mass manufacturing Gigafactory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the engineering department in all facility aspects from initial project phase to mass production of the Gigafactory.
  • Support the development of a manufacturing zone, working within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe and legally compliant from design to integration and implementation, attending design reviews and working with equipment suppliers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure facility OEE is achieved and improved while life cycles are managed and maximized.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in first-class condition.
  • Procure production facilities and processes, and manage contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce cutting-edge manufacturing processes and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Technical degree or certificate in an electrical discipline.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing and equipment engineering, with a focus on process development and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery standards, PLC systems, and complex technical manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-volume manufacture and clean/dry room environments.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and machinery standards.
  • Experience working within APQP and IAFT frameworks.
