Job Description

KBR, a leading global engineering, construction, and services company, is seeking a skilled Proposal Technical Writer to join their team in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineering project execution SMEs to create, edit, and update technical proposal/bid documentation for energy security and energy transition engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project delivery SMEs, engineering discipline leads, and cost estimators to gather information and understand technical aspects of technological solutions, products, systems, and engineering project team structures.
  • Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, brevity, and consistency.
  • Create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to complement written content.
  • Maintain and update a library of standard proposal/bid technical documentation, ensuring all materials are current and accessible to support future referencing.
  • Implement document revision control measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with content management systems and document control processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in persuasive/technical writing tools and software.

KBR offers a competitive hourly pay rate and a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
