Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Climate Control Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our Project.

About the Role

The Climate Control Engineer will be responsible for managing a set area within the Balance of Plant (BOP) on our Hinkley Point C project, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to drive the project forward and support the safe delivery of areas on time, to the right quality and to the highest safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) leadership, building a strong and compliant HSE culture throughout the construction life cycle of the Project.
  • Manage a set area within the BOP on the HPC project, ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
  • Drive the project to support the safe delivery of areas on time, to the right quality, and to the highest safety standards, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensure the appropriate deliverables are produced on time to avoid delays to construction activities.
  • Maintain Configuration Control across the scope Works Information.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Raise technical queries and monitor progress.

Key Deliverables

  • Supporting the BOP Building Leads to deliver the scope.
  • Providing a weekly report on progress and updating the programme.
  • Productivity reviews and control of hours.
  • Construction method improvement plans.
  • Leading and fostering a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant degree in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering, or an HND/HNC in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering (desirable).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Major Project Engineering (Construction) role (essential).
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
  • Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
  • Professional accreditation (preferred).
  • Navis Works knowledge (desirable).
  • Knowledge of NEC ECC Contract (desirable).
  • Competent in basic IT packages.

Based on industry standards and considering the location, we estimate a salary range between £60,000 and £80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure may vary based on individual circumstances.
