Job Summary:
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking experienced and motivated support workers to join our team in a short break setting to provide care and support to individuals with a learning disability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to individuals with a learning disability in a short break setting
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments to ensure the well-being and safety of service users
- Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of service users' plans, reviews, and assessment of risks to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Work with the team to provide sensitive care and guidance to service users in areas of personal care, daily living, health, social integration, and emotional support
- Use good communication skills and have the ability to use your own initiative and work unsupervised while out and about with service users
- Write in daily notes within the service setting and use IT equipment
- Work on a rota system, including days, afternoons, and nights over a 7-day week, including weekends and bank holidays
Requirements:
- Experience in a care or support role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
