Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to lead our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Respiratory, and Cardiology medicine, with a Master's level qualification and experience at Band 7 ANP level.

Main Responsibilities

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for managing deteriorating patients across the trust, working in our ALERT team and Surgical Ward Based ANP team. They will facilitate daily ward rounds, ensure timely discharge for patients, and contribute to other relevant Trust audit and research projects.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Valid NMC registration
  • Currently practising as an advanced practitioner at Band 7 or above
  • Evidence of continued professional development to postgraduate level
  • Master's degree level in a relevant field
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and training in staff development, coaching, supervision, and teaching
  • Ability to interpret clinical information and report as appropriate
  • Competent in clinical assessment
  • Non-medical prescriber's qualification
  • Proven experience of audit and change management skills
  • IT skills - basic working knowledge
  • Ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative
