About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Support Worker to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and families to achieve a healthy weight and promote healthy lifestyles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering family support programs related to the Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) clinic pilot. This will include coordinating identified children and families, supporting them through their treatment journey, strengthening family relationships, and working with services and partners to provide diverse support. The post holder will also be responsible for developing a directory of local services and delivering group interventions for parents and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with a range of partners working with the 0-19 population and their families to develop and deliver CYP and family-centred support.
  • Support the Operational Lead in collating data and information relating to CYP healthier weight and the B&D Children and Young People (CYP) Obesity Programme.
  • Support parents/carers and CYP through the program.
  • Work with 0-19 Universal Services to provide a range of support and capacity-building work in local organisations to increase support for participants on the CYP Obesity programme.
Requirements
  • Diploma level qualification in Nutrition or Physical Activity, or equivalent knowledge gained through multiple specialist training/courses.
  • Experience of delivering health programs that improve health and tackle health inequalities.
  • Ability to implement effective health promotion programs for the 0-19 population that tackle childhood obesity.
