We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Manager to join our team at Asda Stores Ltd.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our optical department, ensuring that high-quality patient service is delivered. This includes managing a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants, reviewing sales forecasting and department targets, and dealing with customer queries.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, with experience in managing fast-paced environments. They will also be able to provide excellent customer and patient care, and be confident in coaching others.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants
  • Oversee compliance processes and procedures
  • Review sales forecasting and department targets
  • Deal with customer queries and resolve any issues

In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with an Optometrist to coach and develop the team, providing ongoing support and guidance. With a focus on delivering exceptional patient service, this role requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Requirements
  • Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced optics environment
  • Able to provide excellent customer and patient care
  • Driven and ambitious to ensure the department meets its targets
