Job Title: Midwife Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join our team as a Midwife Team Lead on our Maternity Inpatient Wards. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating an environment that promotes high-quality care, while seeking to improve patient safety and facilitate a positive patient experience in the antenatal and postnatal setting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Reassess staffing rotas in light of unexpected absences and adjust accordingly to meet service needs.
  • Escalate to midwifery management team about activity in the Unit and staffing levels, ensuring appropriate manpower data is available on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that all medical and midwifery students work in a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Registered Midwife with a degree or relevant experience.
  • Substantial experience of working as a Registered Midwife, specifically in the antenatal and postnatal Ward setting.
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the team/individuals.
  • Knowledge/evidence of research/audit/quality improvement initiatives.
