Neonatal Governance Lead Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Governance Lead Nurse to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.
About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time position that requires the successful candidate to develop and implement evidence-based clinical practice and promote patient safety through staff training, coaching, supervision, and mentoring.
The successful candidate will work strategically and operationally to promote the teaching, training, and ongoing development of the Neonatal Nursing team, ensuring patient safety, evidence-based practice, staff experience, and service user experience are active ongoing processes within the Neonatal Service.
The post holder will work in partnership with the Neonatal Matron, Ward Manager, and Practice Development Nurse to develop staff development, recruitment, and retention strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical practice and promote patient safety through staff training, coaching, supervision, and mentoring.
- Work strategically and operationally to promote the teaching, training, and ongoing development of the Neonatal Nursing team.
- Collaborate with the Neonatal Matron, Ward Manager, and Practice Development Nurse to develop staff development, recruitment, and retention strategies.
- Ensure patient safety, evidence-based practice, staff experience, and service user experience are active ongoing processes within the Neonatal Service.
- Experience and knowledge of neonatal practice acquired through experience post-neonatal training.
- Significant experience in all aspects of Neonatal Care at a Band 6 level.
- Sound knowledge of current neonatal nursing issues, with an understanding of the relevance and local impact of issues and policy from the wider arena of the nursing profession and the NHS.
- In-depth understanding of Safeguarding issues.
- Knowledge of issues surrounding bereavement care, including support of staff.
- Evidence of professional development and relevant further study.
- Experience of staff recruitment.
- RGN/RM/RSCN/RN Child registration.
- Degree or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience in nursing/midwifery.
- Additional ENB405/Neonatal Modules 1 & 2 qualification.
- Registered Mentor.
- Newborn Life Support training.
- Qualified SIMS trainer.
- Leadership/Management qualification.
- NLS instructor.
- PNA training.
