About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant in Clinical Virology to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical virology and will be responsible for leading our team to provide high-quality patient care and expertise in the diagnosis and management of viral infections.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for the diagnosis and management of viral infections
- Lead a team of clinicians and scientists to provide high-quality patient care and conduct research in virology
- Collaborate with other departments and specialties to ensure seamless patient care
- Develop and maintain expertise in clinical virology and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols for the management of viral infections
Person Specification
- Be a specialist registrar or consultant in virology or a related field with a strong background in clinical virology
- Have a good understanding of viral infections and their management
- Have experience of leading a team and managing a clinical service
- Be able to communicate complex information to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Have a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
