About the role

Forth Ports Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-house Legal Counsel to join our small, established team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide commercially focused legal advice on commercial contracts with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal advice on commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements.
  • Assisting with company secretarial duties, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supporting with regulatory and compliance matters, including staying up to date with relevant legislation and ensuring the company's activities are compliant.
  • Working closely with the Head of Legal and other team members to achieve business objectives and provide excellent customer service.

What are we looking for?

  • A qualified lawyer from any UK jurisdiction with 2+ years of PQE from private practice or in-house, preferably with commercial or corporate experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide commercially focused legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize a varied workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
