The Role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of our care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest possible standards of care for our residents, in line with their individual needs.

The Deputy Manager will assist in operational and financial aspects of the home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. They will also stand in for the Home Manager in their absence, providing leadership and support to the team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a similar setting and possess good leadership qualities, a hands-on approach to care, and a strong understanding of the care standards legislation. They will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have a good knowledge of IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the care home
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  3. Stand in for the Home Manager in their absence
  4. Provide leadership and support to the team
  5. Develop and implement care plans for residents
  6. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided

Requirements

  1. Relevant professional qualification - (minimum NVQ/Diploma L3)
  2. Previous management/supervisory experience within a residential care home setting
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  4. Strong IT skills
  5. Good knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards
  6. Strong understanding of the principles of Person-Centered Care
  7. Recent experience and knowledge of dementia care
  8. Proven ability to lead, supervise, motivate and develop a team of staff
  9. Robust organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
  10. Excellent communication skills with residents, families, stakeholders and other relevant bodies
  11. Evidence of recent management and administration of medication competency
  12. A flexible approach to working hours

Desired

  1. NVQ/RMA/Diploma level 5 or equivalent management qualification
  2. Experience in delivering internal training for staff members
  3. A sound grasp of business and operational management within a large organisation
