About the Role

MTrec Recruitment is proud to represent a public sector client based in Newcastle City Centre in their search for a Communications Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver multi-platform communications campaigns and strategies to engage diverse audiences.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns, creating compelling content and leveraging digital engagement tools to target specific audiences.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate copy for various channels, including websites, press releases, publications, and social media platforms.
  • Utilize excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Operate standard IT packages, including Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media management/listening systems.
  • Brief and monitor third-party contractors to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Stay up-to-date with accessibility standards in digital and print formats.
  • Analyze data using tools to improve customer experience and the effectiveness of digital content and campaigns.
  • Experience with Mailchimp and Wordpress is a plus, but not required.
  • Lay out reports using templates and utilize Google Analytics for data-driven insights.
  • Exercise proofreading skills with a strong grasp of grammar.

About You

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering communications campaigns and strategies.
  • Experience in planning and executing social media campaigns, including content creation and digital engagement.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for various channels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in standard IT packages, including Microsoft Office and content management systems.
  • Ability to work with third-party contractors and vendors.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Mailchimp and Wordpress is a plus.
