Are you a highly skilled geophysicist looking for a challenging role in offshore wind energy? We are seeking an experienced Senior Geophysical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering Team at Iberdrola SA.

About the Role

As a Senior Geophysical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing site investigation activities, developing survey strategies, and ensuring the successful delivery of geophysical surveys.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage site investigation activities from a geophysical engineering perspective across the offshore project portfolio.
  2. Develop and lead the implementation of survey strategies, including survey duration and cost estimates.
  3. Ensure the successful delivery of geophysical surveys, including managing the Owner's Engineer who performs the survey management.
  4. Tender for and negotiate geophysical surveys and consultancy work, ensuring appropriate risk management.
  5. Identify and mitigate ground engineering risks on projects through geophysics.
  6. Provide technical support and advice on survey and equipment types for all survey campaigns.
  7. Support the development of ground models for engineering design and installation purposes.
  8. Collaborate with different stakeholders, including transport and installation, cables, foundations, development, operations, and maintenance teams.
  9. Ensure compliance with industry guidelines and best practices, and assess suitable new technology to support the project pipeline.
Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant geophysical or geological discipline.
  • Excellent experience in a variety of geophysical survey methods, including offshore acquisition.
  • Proven track record in interpreting geophysical datasets and developing ground models.
  • Ability to balance technical, commercial, and programme requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards and offshore regulations.
  • Experience communicating effectively and influencing decision-making within a diverse team.
