The Job Summary

The Survey Engineer plays a critical role in planning, executing, and managing offshore survey operations, typically related to subsea construction, oil and gas exploration, or renewable energy projects.

This role involves overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced survey equipment, ensuring accurate data collection and processing, and supporting the successful completion of offshore projects.

The Survey Engineer works closely with Surveyors, Geophysicists, and Marine Engineers to provide precise positioning and geospatial data necessary for offshore activities.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in offshore survey engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using survey equipment such as GPS systems, multi-beam sonar, echo sounders, ROVs, and USBL/LBL systems.
  • Expertise in data processing and analysis software such as QINSy, EIVA, CARIS, Hypack, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of offshore survey methodologies and technologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geophysics, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of survey equipment and techniques, particularly in offshore environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with survey equipment in real-time.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of data acquisition, processing, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with diverse, multidisciplinary offshore teams.
  • Flexibility to work in challenging offshore environments and adapt to changing project needs.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
